A Music and Video Production Team in Biddeford

Once again at the Pepperell Mill Campus, I have taken a daily walk past a business, this time the recording studio, Bottom of the River Sound, without realizing the great things happening behind the doors. It is so easy to do here with the number of businesses working away in these massive buildings. But Nick and Brian invited me in to see where the magic happens, and what I found was three separate rooms setup and ready to record music and video production right here in the heart of Biddeford.

Who are you and where are you from?

We are a team of recording engineers and producers comprised of Nick Bilotta, Brian Andrews, Trevor Winchenbaugh, and Dan Patterson. We were all born and raised in Maine.

Tell me a little about your business?

We are a one-stop-shop studio focusing on recording, mixing, and mastering in the Pepperell mill. We also facilitate rehearsal space for bands and artists in the Bugbee mill. In addition, we have recently began offering guitar repair and set-ups. Production crews seeking to record soundtracks, overdubs, podcasts or foley are welcome too!

What made you choose the mill for your business?

The company began as a studio/practice space in the Bugbee Mill, but to expand we sought out what became a very viable facility and listening environment here on the Pepperell campus, founding a separate (but not too distant) location strictly for recording.

How long have you been doing this?

Nick started recording eight years ago in the Bugbee mill. Three years ago he teamed up with some amazing musicians in the area and branded the company ‘Bottom of the River Sound’.

What makes your business interesting to you?

There’s always a new sound to capture. We work with artists in a wide variety of genres and styles and look forward to walking into something new every day. We have seen some incredible opportunities given to our clients as well that have everything to do with making a difference in our community.

What makes you stand out from others in the same industry?

We have miles of experience and degrees in our craft. With the technology today, musicians have recording capabilities at lower costs. However, our passion and drive is what keeps clients coming back for more.
