Sad Week for a Former West Point Pepperell Mill in Alabama

One of our former sister mills in Alabama met an untimely demise this week when the former West Point Pepperell mill caught fire on Wednesday. Now two days later, crews are still battling the blaze.

It’s a shame to lose part of the former West Point Pepperell empire. West Point Pepperell was a dominant force in the world’s textile market for decades. Now just a shell of its former self, the historic mill buildings are often the last remaining memory of this once great company.

Working everyday to preserve the great mill buildings they left behind in Biddeford, it makes it hard to see one lost. Our thoughts are with those affected by the fire in Opelika, Alabama.
