Plourde Crafts expands into former pizza shop as ‘Innovative Glass & Home’
Polly and Dan Plourde of dp Plourde Crafts have changed their company name to Innovative Glass & Home and moved from Suite 229 in Building 17 into the space formerly occupied by Union House Pizza (Building 18, Suite 230). They plan to open Friday, April 25, and are having a 10% off sale this weekend! Join the celebration between 5 and 8pm during Art Walk.
With the additional square footage they now carry the work of other Maine artists. So in addition to their fused glass dishware and custom-made stained glass valances you will now find jewelry, pottery, Maine wildlife photography, weaving, fishing nets (yes, these nets are handcrafted and of great quality), Victorian lamp shades and other fine, Maine-made items. When you need to buy a gift, think of Innovative Glass & Home! Buy local and buy Maine Made! Don’t forget Mother’s Day is just around the corner.
The move has also allowed them to triple the workspace for their fusing classes. That means more work space per person, more grinders and other tools, more glass and, of course, more fun! Drop In when they are open and create a wonderful, functional dish. No reservations required, no experience necessary.
Be sure to stop in on a regular basis to check out their on-going improvements. They are open Thursdays from 6-7:30 (they will stay open until 9 if students are present), Fridays from 12:30 – 5:30, and Saturdays from 9-3.
