Economic expansion continues in Biddeford

Within the confines of the Pepperell Mill Campus, small businesses and manufacturers are busy as bees, expanding Biddeford’s positive employment numbers as they grow and succeed. So it’s no surprise to me that Forbes has named the Biddeford, Portland and South Portland area as one of the top 10 metropolitan areas in the country for job-hunting this spring.

The list is based on national survey of employers by ManpowerGroup, an employment services firm. The company says that our area has a “net employment outlook” of 19 percent for the second quarter of 2012. The number is based on the percentage of employers who anticipate an increase in staffing levels.

The survey ranked us as 6th best in the country. Music to my ears, and yours too, I bet.
