Biddeford’s Youth Plays Key Role in Downtown Revitalization

A recent article by the National Association of Development Organizations highlights the role of Biddeford’s youth in the revitalization of Biddeford’s downtown.

There is still an old guard in Biddeford that is hesitant to accept the trendy coffee shops (Perk and Elements) and art galleries (Engine) that have popped up on Biddeford’s Main Street recently.  What the old guard may not realize is that these businesses are modern day versions of the stores that lined Main Street in Biddeford’s heyday.

There is a still a long way to go to return Biddeford’s downtown to its former glory but this article shows that the seeds of future development are well sewed in Biddeford’s youth.
